B09: Case Studies in Residential Universal and Green Design

Presenters: Gina Hilberry, and Brian Sullivan. Valerie Fletcher and Gabriela Sims will be presenting on our Case Study Collection

The National Endowment for the Arts supported IHCD to create a global web-based collection of case studies of universal design in the built environment. This effort produced a set of innovative projects that pair universal design with environmental sustainability. We examine residential case studies and emerging trends with two innovative practitioners. One created a 100 acre national model of mixed income housing in West Seattle, the other permanent housing for people who have been chronically homeless in St. Louis.
